The Tukwila Reign is a sixth year AAU Girl's Basketball organization. The Reign is a non-profit incorporated organization registered in the state of Washington since 1998. The Reign was established to provide an educational experience through sports participation. The Reign is committed to assisting female student athletes ages 9 to 17 in improving their individual basketball skills and providing knowledgeable coaching along with the opportunity to play with and against the highest level of competition on state and national levels.

MISSION

The primary objectives of the Reign are: To organize and administer a highly competitive "after season" basketball program for girls ages 9 to 17; to field competitive girls basketball teams in each level of competition in regional and national basketball tournaments; to provide an environment for each player to develop and maximize her individual basketball skills; to provide a forum for qualified players to display their abilities to college scouts for various national tournaments in order to compete for athletic scholarships; to develop the spirit of sportsmanship and to promote the fulfillment  of all intent of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972.

ELIGIBILITY

All Tukwila Reign players and coaches must join the AAU. The Reign adopts the playing age requirements of the AAU. A registered player's age girl's at midnight  December 31st determines the youngest age group with which they may apply. A player may "play up" with an older age group.

PLAYER PLACEMENT

The Tukwila Reign program is a competitive program designed for girls who want to learn and play at such a level. Tryouts will be made available.

The number of players selected for teams for the tryouts is determined by the availability of coaches. It is the desire to place every tryout participant on team, but team placement is not guaranteed. A player may be placed on a local team or a travel team.

All Reign teams are committed to participate in all of their regularly scheduled league games and tournaments as selected by the coaching staff.

Our focus is to provide the best, provide the environment to become better and to build teams that will dominate the Puget Sound Area and the Northwest.

COACHES

Tukwila Reign seeks coaches who have the ability to teach basketball at a highly competitive level, have the temperament to deal with referees and follow coaches in accordance with AAU coaches' standard of conduct. The coach must be able to develop the individual  skills of players, be committed to the ideals of sportsmanship, have the highest standards of personal character and integrity and have the time and resources to commit  to the Tukwila Reign program. All coaches will be required to have background checks completed by the WASP.
