Reign Spring Hoopfest Tournament
The Tukwila Reign is hosting this year’s Spring Hoopfest March 31 - April 1, 2007 as our official annual fundraiser. We are planning to use Foster High School, Showalter Middle School, Seattle Christian, and possibly Tyee High School. The Reign would run operations at Tyee and Seattle Christian for our fundraiser.
This year’s field is growing and hopes to be even bigger than last year’s field of 36 teams. We have already received commitments from teams in Eastern Washington and Oregon. Some of the teams that have already committed include; Shotcallers, Y.E.A., Spokane Stars, Rotary, and Yakima Valley.
We can use everyone’s effort to get the word out over the next couple of months. Give out flyers during other tournaments or pass them out to other teams you may be familiar with, and etc. Just download the information from the Reign website.
On the Road Again
It is almost time for the future Reign High School team (current 8th grade team) to begin their spring/summer high school season. The team will warm up at the Spring Hoopfest March 31st in preparation for their first NCAA Coaches Viewing Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona where they will be part of over 175 teams participating in the Arizona Elite’s Spring Classic April 13-15th. Phoenix is second only to Oregon City’s End of the Trail on the West Coast for attracting the greatest number of incoming freshman and elite select teams from around the United States and Canada.
The team needs to get their registration forms for these two events in the mail by the 1st of January. Ron and Wayne will be discussing travel arrangements with the team next week.
